Outer Banks Chefs compete for the title of "Prince or Princess of Canned Goods." Each chef has 60 minutes to cook a dish using item(s) that the Beach Food Pantry would normally keep in stock. One of the items used must be a canned good. Attendees and a three-judge panel vote for their favorite dishes. “We look forward every year to seeing how creative our local chefs can be using everyday food items,” says Beach Food Pantry Executive Director Theresa Armendarez. “And, we are especially grateful to each chef and restaurant for donating their time, talent and resources to help raise money to fight food insecurity in our community.” The following Chefs/Restaurants are looking forward to competing:

Tickets are $60 per person and include event entrance, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and two beverages (select beer, wine, and soft drinks). A cash bar will also be available. Enjoy a festive evening at Duck Woods Country Club in Southern Shores featuring a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and DJ music. OBX Frozen Yogurt will donate a portion of their Friday, November 24th sales to the Beach Food Pantry! So take a break from your holiday shopping and stop in for a froyo that not only is (oh so) good but does good too!
Outer Banks Sports Club 10th Annual Turkey Burn Challenge. This is a member driven fundraiser. 50% of the proceeds go to the winner and 50% go to the Beach Food Pantry. $20 Donation
Our goal is to motivate people to take some time to get in a little better shape and raise some money for a great local cause. 50% of the proceeds go towards the Beach Food Pantry and the other 50% goes to the winner. In the case of a tie it will be split between the two winners. The challenge is from Oct 23 to Nov 22. The week of Oct 23rd will be the check in/ weigh in. Nov 22 will be the closing weigh in date. OBSC is here to support you during the challenge. We will provide a basic nutrition plan and exercise plan for you for the challenge period. We will also be introducing some new classes as part of the Turkey Burn Challenge. Call or stop by the front desk for more details.
